This is usually my favorite weekend of the year! It would have been my 19th year spent competing or cheering on friends at the New England Oireachtas. But unfortunately it’s 2020, and by November we all know what that means with no further explanation.
I’ve gone through the process, first mourning the loss of this year’s qualifiers. I miss the crowded ballrooms and smell of hairspray at 6 AM, the lack of sleep and “Three more rounds until she’s up” texts. I miss overpriced meals with my favorite teammates and forgetting that life exists outside of that Irish dance bubble we enter for every major competition. Then I moved on to some self care. I took a minute to tan my legs for nostalgia sake and told myself it’s ok to be sad. But now it’s time to show gratitude. How lucky are we that we have something to miss so much?
Let’s celebrate! Celebrate that we always have Irish dance to lean on and remember that not being able to take the stage does not take away all of the hard work put in. Remember, your dance journey still deserves to be celebrated, even if not on stage at an awards ceremony. What better way to do this than with a photoshoot?

REQUIREMENTS TO WIN:
– Must be an Irish dancer who would have been competing at their qualifier this year
– Must be 18 years or older to enter. (Dancers under 18 may be entered by a parent or legal guardian.)
– Must be available for one of the time/location options listed on the entry form
– Must agree to full terms and conditions listed in the contract for services, including signing a model release
– Must be entered by November 25, 2020 at 11:59 PM EST
